September 2008, The Young Poets were honored with a proclamation making September 27, 2008, Young Poet Day in Willimantic, CT.
Summer of 2009, The Young Poets were awarded the NEAG Creativity Award from Uconn.
The Young Poets won the state Lation Community Service Award, Fall 2009.
Spring 2010, Hosted community event, Voices Rising from the Streets and published their second book with the same title.
June 2011, The Young Poets hosted the Northeast Freedom Writer Conference at ECSU, with guest speaker, Erin Gruwell.
Fall 2011, The Young Poets performed for the National Educational Conference, Hartford, CT.
